One Fair Wage
OUR STATEMENT:
"Massachusetts Restaurants United strongly urges a NO VOTE on Question #5 in November. MRU does not support this initiative because we know it will lead to shuttered restaurants in our neighborhoods.
Facts have proven that the restaurant industry has razor thin margins, and should this pass, many will not be able to keep their doors open in the face of increased costs. In 2024, 83% of independent restaurants in Massachusetts report that they are one major expense away from closing. Passing this ballot question will result in hospitality job losses and closed businesses.
We know that this proposal will burden diners with additional fees and higher menu prices. A NO vote on Question #5 in November will keep neighborhood restaurants open. From Pittsfield to Provincetown and beyond, help restaurant employees SAVE THEIR TIPS and their livelihoods, and help save your neighborhood restaurants. VOTE NO."
